Health Advocates Network RN - M/S post surg/ortho _TRMC in Grants Pass, Oregon
- General job duties. Types of procedures required.
Basic med/surg nursing care concentrating on post surgical patients: orthopedics, general surgery, and medical.
- Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
BBraun Smart IV pumps, EPIC computerizsd charting, OMNIcell for medication
- Required skills and minimum years of experience.
BLS, med/surg nursing experience minimum 2 years
- Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
BLS
- Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
will never work alone, no call is required, scheduled shift 0700-1900 and 1900-0700, three days/week, weekends required
- Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)
may float to other departments within the med/surg area
- Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.
31 beds, 25/3 semi-private
- Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)
Days-1:5 Nights 1:6

clean/appropriate scubs

PCA's, Epidurals, Peripheral Nerve Blocks, Total Joints
Additional Comments:
although this is the designated post surgical department, elective surgeries have been cancelled and are absorbing
medical patients to free up a unit for isolation purposes
